Aberdeenshire denies debate

The Provost of Aberdeenshire Council deemed the following two motions not competant and they were therefore not debated.

WPR funding:-

“Aberdeenshire Council will not divert funding needed for schools to help it meet its share of the cost of the Western Peripheral Route.”

Climate Change

“Aberdeenshire Council:

1. Notes that in its quest to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, its policies have had mixed results;
2. Reaffirms its determination to achieving emissions reductions in line with its agreed targets and commitments, and;
3. Will set up a member-officer working group to recommend new decision making and governance arrangements, including additional powers for the sustainability sub-committee, to ensure carbon dioxide reduction targets are met or bettered in future.”
