Aberdeenshire finely balanced as new Council meets
Council's concern over school accommodation
East Garioch councillor Martin Ford has commented on Aberdeenshire Council's press statement issued today 'Rapid growth of Kintore leads to planning concerns'.
Councillor Martin Ford
said: "This is a new situation in my experience. I am not aware of
Aberdeenshire Council having to act in this way before. It is a
reflection of the severe pressure on the accommodation at the school.
"The Council had to do something before the situation became impossible.
"The particular difficulties at Kintore are symptomatic of the
pressure on school accommodation in many Aberdeenshire communities
close to Aberdeen. There needs to be serious investment in school
buildings, and this must be a top priority for the Council."
