Masterplan threat to home owners
The Masterplan for Menie has reopened the threat of Compulsory Purchase for families who do not wish to sell to Trump.
Commenting Cllr Debra Storr said "I raised several issues relating to the draft Masterplan with Gareth Hoskins Associates last September but have not yet had the courtesy of an acknowledgement let alone a reply. Masterplanning is supposed to be a serious exercise and by all the guidance should involve not just Council Planners and statutory consultees but also the public. This continual arrogant attitude is one reason why I remain sceptical about any promises made by the Trump Organisation."
Sue Edwards added "If the Masterplan includes areas of land not owned by Trump it is not deliverable and therefore not competent, unless Trump is also asking for Compulsory Purchase Orders to be used."
She continued "Recent government guidance on the use of Compulsory Purchase Orders in England would rule out the use ofcompulsory purchase against the families at Menie. It would be shameful if the interpretation of the rules in Scotland supported the clearances of families to the benefit of a rich American."Note
